AutoVue 19.2 reaffirms Cimmetry’s commitment to the EDA industry by providing a powerful enterprise visualization solution that serves the specific needs of electronic designers and contract manufacturers, and addresses the challenges posed by the growing crossover between the electronic and mechanical arenas. Resulting from the close cooperation between Cimmetry and major EDA players, AutoVue 19.2 provides an enhanced EDA experience with new features, enhanced usability and optimized performance.

AutoVue 19.2 also reinforces Cimmetry’s lead in MCAD visualization by delivering extended Product Manufacturing Information (PMI), Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and Functional Tolerance Annotation (FTA) support, allowing organizations in the manufacturing field to efficiently and securely convey information on the design of a product’s components to the shop floor, closing the loop between engineering and manufacturing, and avoiding unnecessary production delays and costs.

Enhanced Physical Layer Management

AutoVue 19.2 facilitates EDA document review and navigation through physical layers, allowing users to quickly and easily find vital information contained within large EDA files. Users can easily turn on and off physical layers and entity types associated with each layer and bring layers to the top with a simple click of the mouse.

Enhanced Cross-Probe

AutoVue’s ability to cross-probe between a board layout, its related schematic, and 3D PCB, has been dramatically enhanced. While cross probing in AutoVue 19.2 users can find all occurrences of a particular component or net and easily navigate between them, should they be present on multiple sheets of a schematic. In addition, AutoVue now offers an automatic mode that intelligently determines the appropriate view (layout, schematic, 3D model) for the cross probe target.

New Tooltips

AutoVue’s new EDA tooltips display entity properties by hovering the mouse over a specific element of a schematic or PCB layout. This productivity feature allows users to instantly access important information without having to repeatedly drill down into an entity’s details, thereby speeding up design reviews.

New Support for Layer Sets

AutoVue now automatically imports the layer sets, as defined in Mentor Expedition and Cadence Allegro files. Users viewing these EDA files with AutoVue can easily load named layer settings, as originally set in the authoring application.

AutoVue 19.2 Web Edition Enables Real-Time Collaboration on Local Files

AutoVue Web Edition provides server-based viewing, markup and real-time collaboration capabilities, delivering instant and secure access to hundreds of document types wherever they reside, without leaving a document footprint on the client’s machine.

AutoVue 19.2 now provides users with the ability to conduct real-time collaboration sessions on documents that are stored on local drives. A document’s security is still ensured, and file access to individuals outside the real-time collaboration session is denied. By doing so, AutoVue Web Edition ensures ready and secure access to both data located on company servers and local drives.

Enhanced Markup Management

AutoVue 19.2 delivers an enhanced markup control structure, which makes it even easier to display, sort and manage markups and annotations, allowing users to select only those markups which they wish to see. Users can communicate change requests, comments, observations, and instructions in an effective and timely manner.
