AutoVue Features: 3D Viewing

AutoVue is a complete 3D viewing solution that allows manufacturing organizations to access, share and collaborate on their digital product data. AutoVue delivers native viewing support, which means users do not need to convert their files to a neutral or proprietary format. AutoVue can open 3D designs in an easy and reliable manner, without requiring the authoring application or undergoing costly and error-prone document conversion.

view 3D models

  • Support for the latest versions of the most common 3D CAD designs.
  • View important PMI (Product Manufacturing Information) and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and FTA (Functional Tolerance Annotation) information
  • Standard 3D views are available including isometric and perspective views. User defined views can also be created.
  • View 3D user-defined views that were created with the original authoring application.
  • View 2D modes and drafts of models
  • Select filters to hide/show entities based on type.

manipulate 3D cad Designs

  • 3D Compare: Compare 3D assemblies to determine what parts have been added, removed or changed. This unique AutoVue feature goes beyond a graphical comparison and includes the ability to detect changes to non-graphical attributes at the part or assembly level. View changes between design iterations, verify the integrity of a converted design and share these results with others.
  • 3D Explode: Drag a slide-bar to explode/implode an entire assembly or selected parts/subassemblies. The exploded view can be saved for future reference. This ability to dynamically explode complex assemblies allows users to get to the component level faster and create clear illustrations for control documents such as assembly and maintenance instructions.
  • Section models with user defined section planes, and export the section edges as a separate file.
  • 3D Entity Search: Search and filter for parts in a 3D assembly based on a variety of native file attributes. Results can be inspected, transformed, colorized and exported. This time-saving feature makes it quick and easy to zero in on a part from a list of thousands.
  • Transform model parts independently of one another: Users are given the versatility necessary to explore different configurations, move parts out of the way to better view hidden areas of the model, and break an assembly down into its components.
  • Render the model in several 3D modes including shaded model, wireframe, silhouette and hidden line removal.
  • Change the light settings, with options such as light direction, color and type.
  • Color and highlight different parts of assemblies by changing their color and type, color-coding specific parts or making them visible or hidden for ease of distinction.

interrogate 3D cad designs

  • Interference Checking: Users can verify spatial interference between any two or more parts
  • Precise measurements on all dimensions, including angles, arcs, circles, surface area, distance, using the snapping function.
  • Measure the minimum distance between any two points on a model or part.
  • Generate and export BOMs (Bills of Material)
  • Calculate mass properties for the whole or part of the model, including center of gravity, moments of inertia, inertia tensor and many more.
