April 07, 2004 – Cimmetry Systems, the global leader in visualization and collaboration solutions for the A/E/C, Engineering, Manufacturing and Electronics markets, today announced that the latest service pack for AutoVue 17.1 supports AutoCAD 2005 and several other new formats. This service pack is available immediately for AutoVue users under maintenance. "Since AutoCAD is the most used 2D CAD application in the world, there are numbers of users deploying AutoCAD 2005,” said Pam Petropoulos, Marketing Manager at Cimmetry Systems. “This service pack delivers full support for the new Sheet Set Files as well as new AutoCAD 2005 entities. As the leading multi-format viewer on the market, AutoVue consistently supports the latest design formats in a timely manner." The AutoCAD 2005 format is backwards compatible with AutoCAD 2004 (previously supported by AutoVue), but also includes some new entities. A new format, "Sheet Set Files" (.dst), was also introduced with AutoCAD 2005. In the latest service pack, AutoVue provides full support for the DST format and all new entities. The service pack adds support for the following formats:
